Fine Motor Fun with Beads

Iron beads have been around for a long time. They are a fun thing to do but also a great activity for building up fine motor strength and coordination. Using tweezers with the beads helps to build up the strength depending on the resistance of the tweezers. Having to maintain the pinch on the tweezers mimics the same kind of strength required for holding a pencil for a period of time. Accuracy of placement of beads works on a lot of different visual motor skills. Using the beads with out tweezers also works on a fine pincer grasp as the beads are so small that only two fingers can hold them. The best part about the beads is that you can iron them at the end and the creation will stay forever.

Kids love it!
